Summary:
This story is about Beans and her friends. One day, her English teacher who is called Mrs. King called Beans, but she did not answer that. Also even though her teacher asked her, she did not read paragraph. Truth to tell, Beans could not read that, but she wanted to keep the secrets. After all, Beans was so nervous, and her friend who is called Dooley was late for class. For break, Beans saw pictures of kid with wings sitting on a Dooley’s bag. Dooley did not want to tell why he was late for the class. It was a picture of Dooley, and he had been absent for his grandmother’s funeral. Beans looked at the angel picture again, and she could understand why he wanted to hide it. For the rest the day, Beans watched a cat which sat on her doorstep, and the cat seemed to be lonely. She said that do you have a home? and picked the cat up. Maybe, the cat was a stray. She went home with the cat and she needed a name for that. Beans called Nelson which means to protect her. She wanted to talk to Dooley and wanted to know what is the Dooley’s secrets. One day, when she opened the door, the cat leapt outside. “Stop, stop,” said Beans, and the cat came up to Dooley. Dooley and Beans talked to the picture, and they had good time with the cat.
Reaction:
I thought that this book might be easy for me to read. However, it is a children book, it is not easy for me to understand the meaning. This story is about friend and cat. When children make a friend, they sometimes want to use something, they enjoy giving favorite things in order to play with them. Beans also want to know Dooley’s secrets, at that time, she picked the cat up. In this story, I think that there were some secrets; Dooley’s picture and the cat. Even though there was not special event or special story in this book, it was interesting, and I could understand children’s friend. Also, through this story, I remembered my childhood.
